On the roof in the moonlight

I have been drawing backgrounds from photo reference to brush up on non-human subject matter. Looking through a book of Victorian homes inspired me to draw a moonlit scene with a mysterious figure on the roof. Initially sketched in pencil, I inked it with a Liqui-mark, water soluble marker, a .5 Micron technical pen, and my ink wash-filled Aquabrush. Initially the figure was almost completely invisible so I added blacks with a Faber-Castel brush pen. The figure is the “point” and therefore the focus of a left-pointing triangle of black. The higher contrast of the darkened figure also makes the gray night sky lighter by comparison creating a framing effect that further draws attention to him.
