March Sketches & Mr. Chips

These are some sketches from a walk to a local park and from watching a film called “Goodbye Mr. Chips” , starring Peter O’Toole. It’s a musical about a school teacher at a British prep school and is kind of like an early version of Mr. Holland’s Opus in that the story covers territory from the 1920’s through to after World War 2. It starts out slow, but picks up as the story moves along. It is also a great visual resource, featuring excellent scenes in Pompeii, British school architecture, and automobiles and costuming from various eras of the 20th century.
